Achilles FPAL & Sellihca
Fletcher are committed members of both the Achilles FPAL and Sellihca supplier management communities. We continually monitor and update our supplier profile and registration questionnaires and actively encourage our Buyers to provide performance feedback which can then be shared with the other Buyer members of these communities. Membership provides valuable exposure to a range of existing and potential customers in both the European Oil & Gas industry and Nordic Utilities sector.
Institute of supply management
Our safety management system is fully compliant with the requirements of the International Safety Management standards and covers Health, Safety and Environmental issues. The ISM standards are a marine safety based quality system, and our systems are audited annually by the UK MCA to ensure continued compliance, along with any client and our own regular internal audit.
RoSPA
We are very proud to have achieved the Gold Safety Award in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards since 2014, which is a testament to the quality of our crews and the value that they, and we, place on safety in the work place
MLC
The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 when introduced, gave Fletcher little concern as we met all but one or two minor areas of the Convention, those minor areas were quickly adjusted to fit, and we have now been operating fully compliant to all aspects for over 10 years.
DNV-GL
We utilise the expertise of DNV-GL for the classification of our vessels for maritime safety and pollution prevention compliance. We work with DNV-GL to achieve this objective through the application of internationally standardised class rules and by verifying compliance with the applicable statutory regulations.
Lloyd's Register
We utilise the expertise of Lloyds for the classification of one of our vessels for maritime safety and pollution prevention compliance. Lloyds objective is to help safely manage our ships and offshore assets to their full potential, maintain operational effectiveness and minimise risk to life, property and the environment. We work with Lloyds to achieve this objective through the application of internationally standardised class rules and by verifying compliance with the applicable statutory regulations.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is the most updated standard of its kind and focuses on quality management systems and performance. It assists companies in developing a management system that aligns quality with their wider business strategy. There is a focus on risk-based thinking and accountability in all organizational processes that helps improve communications, efficiency, and implementation of continuous improvement. This accreditation is an important step in assuring that our customers continue to receive the very best in quality and service.
ISO 9001:2015 provides us with a benchmark standard against which our performance can be measured and assures our customers that our services are carefully monitored for quality. This leads to:
- Improved customer satisfaction
- Increased effectiveness in use of resources
- Motivated & committed workers
- Experience & Knowledge
We have elected to use the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s QA Department as our Registrar for this accreditation. We have a longstanding relationship with the MCA, through our ongoing commitment to the UK Flag for our vessels, and the use of their services and expertise for this non-statutory element brings us, and ultimately our customers, clear benefits:
- Fewer audits and therefore less vessel downtime – ISO9001:2015 audits are harmonised with those already conducted for the maintenance of statutory marine certification
- Extensive shipping industry knowledge
